Bente Skjøttgaard (Born 1961) is a Danish ceramicist, known for her experimental approach to ceramics, where she explores the boundaries of form and glaze. She graduated from Kolding Design School in 1986 and has since worked both in industrial design and as an independent artist. In her early works, she worked with industrial techniques, but later she began experimenting with more sculptural forms and unique glazes, which challenge conventional perceptions of ceramics.

One of her signature projects is her "cloud compositions," which she has been working on for several years. Inspired by clouds and nature's shapes, these works consist of large, organic stoneware constructions, often decorated with thick, colourful glazes that accentuate the tactile aspect of the clay. Skjøttgaard's glaze work stands out by letting the glaze "run" and creating random patterns, which gives her works a both controlled and spontaneous expression.
