Louise Hindsgavl (Born 1973), and graduated from the Design School in Kolding with a specialization in ceramics and glass. She is known for her works in porcelain that break with traditional notions of porcelain figurines. Hindsgavl's art often moves in the borderland between the grotesque and humorous, where she challenges our perceptions of the material porcelain as well as human behaviour. Her figures may be anthropomorphic, often with elements of the monstrous or surreal, which play with themes of society, morality and human relations.

Her works range from small figurative sculptures to large installations, and she has exhibited both in Denmark and internationally. Her work is represented in prominent museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the National Museum in Stockholm. Hindsgavl has also received several awards, including the Prince Eugen Medal in 2015, which is awarded for artistic skill.

In her more recent works, she has also experimented with stoneware and expressive glazes, demonstrating her ability to develop and challenge her own artistic expression. She continues to explore both abstract and figurative forms, with themes of civilization, destruction, and the subconscious often being the focus.

Hindsgavl's works are remarkable for their ability to combine beauty with an underlying uneasiness, making them powerful comments on human nature and its complexities.
